Being Time (fallen rock), 2024

Being Time (fallen rock) is a large candle sitting on top of a paper maché sculpted column. The candle molded from a rock, that we saw from a cliff of errored glacial moraine, has multiple wicks burning and shaping the wax into a remnant of the original sculpture.

A ceramic shelf holds a burning candle. The candle is replaced when it has burnt out and its wax has melted away. Each of the candles is made from molds of sculpted pre-historic plant life, stones, and speculative plants that may have existed on Mars.
